Kaduna to spend N21m on relief materials for flood victims

Abubakar Zakari, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, on Friday, said that the state government has approved the release of N21 million to procure relief materials for people displaced by flood across the 23 Local Government Areas.

Speaking in Kaduna, Zakari said the Agency was already working in collaboration with similar organisations to provide temporary shelter to affected victims in the state.

According to him, assessments of the victims have been completed and their resettlement will commence by next week.

The spokesperson urged people living in flood-prone areas to relocate in their own interest as more rains were expected.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) donated relief materials to some of the state’s flood victims this week.
