Dear Regular Students,
RESUMPTION DATE NOT YET FIXED:
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University
Awka, Prof. Greg Nwakoby has dismissed rumours regarding the date of
resumption stating that the management of the university is yet to
decide on that.
Prof. Nwakoby
however was sceptical whether the strike would or would not affect the
resumption of academic activities in the school.
However, Prof.
Nwakoby appealed to Federal Government and ASUU to be considerate on
the plight of the students and the educational system which he described
as being in a state of jeopardy urging both sides to shift their
ground.
The Prof. further asserted that the industrial action
embarked by ASUU is indirectly promoting private universities at the
expense of public universities.
He expressed fears that if adequate measures are not taken, the system would collapse.
The University Don further advised students not to see the industrial
action as a guarantee to veer off the right part in engaging in all
sorts of social vices and brigandage.
He advised students to embrace
their studies and engage their time in meaningful endeavors
expressing optimism that in no distant time, the strike would be
called off.
